Mendocino Madrone, Quarter sawn Maple, and Bamboo

All the madrone parts of this table are cut from one billet of madrone from a tree that was felled for my father before I was born. The deep rich tones of this board are unique to the madrones of the Mendocino basin area of California, and even there, a board with this much color is hard to find.

This table is meant to be used in the entry area of a home. A drawer to store your keys and wallet pulls in both directions, for coming and going. The area to the side is just right for the mail you just brought in.

The beautifully shaped legs are five sided and angle out from the table at a diagonal so as to be appreciated in the end view as well as the side view. This is a well designed table that has purpose and beauty.
